What are the Different Bikini Wax Styles?

Bikini Wax

All of us like to think it’s always summer. And with that thought, we like to keep ourselves ready to pack our bags and head to a beach town on holiday. A beach holiday means that you get your best swimsuits and bikinis ready – and decide how to wear your hair underneath your clothes. You know that you must wax your underarms pronto, but how do you decide about removing the hair on your bikini line? Different bathing suits require different methods of hair removal – so it is worthwhile to grow through our guide on different bikini wax styles. It all boils down to personal preferences, but a little knowledge never hurt anyone – especially when choosing a particular bikini wax off a salon menu card.

Bikini Wax Styles:

 Bikini Wax

Bikini

The standard bikini wax, this is simply a ‘tidy up’, that removes any hair that could be seen whilst wearing a bikini – so from the upper thighs and just outside the panty line, and also from the top that might peek over the waist-band.

 Extended Bikini Wax

Extended Bikini

This removes all of the hair that would be taken off with the standard bikini, but takes it deeper around the legs, and may shape it into more of a triangle by taking more off of the top. This is good for those who want to keep their hair down there, but want it to look its neatest.

 French Wax

French Wax

This takes all the hair from the front, including the more intimate areas, leaving just a ‘landing strip’ on top. This wax doesn’t touch the areas behind, so is perfect for those looking to be smooth up front, without removing any hair from the back.

 Brazilian Wax

Brazilian

This is very similar to the French Wax in that it removes most of the hair from the front, leaving a small strip or triangle, but this also takes all the hair from the back. This is the perfect style for wearing a thong bikini, as no hair will be visible front or back.

 Hollywood Wax

Hollywood

This is just about as far as you can go with bikini waxing, and is the style to go for if you don’t want any hair left down there at all, completely removing everything, front and back.

Bikini Waxing at Home

Not every bikini wax needs a salon appointment, except for the Brazilian and Hollywood styles. The others can be easily done at home with the use of Veet’s bikini wax strips. Warm the strip by rubbing it with your bare hands, then apply to the area and pull away against the direction of the hair growth. The strips fit to the contours of your body and give a perfect finish every time.

Bikini Waxing Vs. Shaving

Waxing provides smoother and longer lasting results by removing the hair from the root, whereas shaving cuts the hair right below the skin’s surface, causing a prickly feel days after. Waxing is also healthier because it provides a physical exfoliation, removing dead surface cells. In other words, waxing will give you the smoothest skin – and the smoothest experience.
